SUNSCREEN
EVERY DAY!
12 MONTHS A YEAR
Applying your serums and moisturizers in the morning is not complete without finishing with sunscreen as your final step.Using Sun Protection is as important as taking your daily vitamins.
Cloudy days, rainy days, snowy days and bright, sunny days are all included in the daily exposure to the UVA/UVB rays, which accentuates the effects of aging and increases your risk of skin cancer.
Being indoors or driving in a carare also possible ways to be affected by harmful rays. Most people have seen a difference in their skin on the left side of their face from driving, with the sun penetrating through the vehicle window. Over time the damage is cumulative.
Choose a sunscreen labeled “Broad Spectrum” with an SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 30 or higher for the face and body. Don’t forget the back of your hands! The active ingredients remain on the surface of the skin reflecting the UV radiation before it does harm, resulting in premature aging. By wearing the proper sunscreen every day, it is possible to reverse some of the damage already done.
Some foundations, BB creams and tinted moisturizers are available with an SPF included in their ingredients. While this sounds like an easier way to apply sunscreen, there really is no advantage of relying on these products with a built in SPF to protect your skin.
Whatever your skin color, all are potentially susceptible to harmful effects of the sun. Over time the Ultraviolet rays destroy the underlying layers of the skin. The breakdown causes skin to sag.
Wearing sunglasses and a hat also helps to shield the sun from your face.
