Having your makeup applied professionally is fun, relaxing, and a gift to yourself! If you are not able to set time aside for a makeup application, the steps below should help achieve a good look as well.
MAKEUP PRIMER
An important step before foundation application, whether it is liquid, tinted moisturizer, cream-to-powder, or mineral, will create a barrier to even out the skin’s texture and extend the wearability of the makeup. The foundation and powder won’t disappear into pores, and it prevents oils from the skin to blend in. Makeup looks Fresh All Day.
EYE SHADOW PRIMER
A quick application of primer onto the eyelid before applying shadows and liners will prevent colors from creasing and will keep your eye shadow true to color. It will also add brightness to the eyelid before color application.
EYESHADOW
The technique for applying eyeshadow is simple. The lightest color is applied directly under the eyebrow to enhance the shape of the brow. A medium shade is then applied to the lid from lash line to contour. Then, for more a dramatic look, the darkest shade is applied in the outer corner into the contour with the appropriate brush. Always blend shadows with brushes. Experiment with different colors and finishes, such as matte, frost, shimmer, cream, or powder, to find the looks that you like for both daytime and evening.
EYEBROWS
Eyebrows are an important feature on your face. Enhance them with a brow powder, gel, or pencil, and finish off your brows with a setting gel to groom them. This application will add youthfulness to your face.
EYELINER
After applying eyeshadow, line the top lid very closely to the lash base with a pencil or liquid liner that glides on without tugging at delicate skin. Apply liner to the lower lashes, which can either be the same color as the top liner or a shade lighter (think black liner on top lid and grey or brown liner under lower lashes). Again, keep pencil very close to the lash base to give the appearance of thicker lashes and a nice frame to emphasize the shape of your eyes.
MASCARA
After applying eyeshadows and liner, finish with mascara. Curl lashes with an eyelash curler that fits the shape of your eye. (Some curlers are longer than others). Be sure to grasp all of the top lashes and squeeze curler for 5 seconds. Apply two coats of mascara for maximum length and volume. Comb through lashes with the appropriate brush for the best application.
CONTOURING & HIGHLIGHTING
Contouring with bronzer in the hollow of your cheek up into the hairline will emphasize the cheekbone. Then, apply a blush onto the apple of the cheek and blend in with the bronzer to achieve a natural look. Highlight with a luminizing product around the eye area and above the cheekbone to bring lightness and brightness to that area.
LIPSTICK
Lipstick is the ultimate beauty accessory. It is the quickest way to add color to the face, brighten a complexion, and create a sense of confidence and well-being.With a range of coverage – from sheer to glossy, stains to frosted, and semi-matte to matte finishes, there should be one or more that you feel comfortable wearing. And in a color that works with your complexion.Outline your lips with a lip liner to define the lip and make it easier to apply lipstick. Also, apply a lip balm before the liner and lipstick to ensure a smooth finish.
BLUSH
A pop of color on the apple of the cheek brightens your face and should look as natural as possible. Choose a color that compliments your complexion in a powder or cream finish. Keep it in the same color family as the lipstick shade you are wearing.Literally smile in the mirror and find the apple of your cheeks. That’s where you should apply the blush with the appropriate brush. Blend into the cheekbone, then, with a large powder brush, blend even more so that the color is not overdone. It is best to apply blush after lipstick application to determine the balance of eye, lip, and cheek makeup.
